Excerpts from the Uncommon Book, DESTROYING THE FORCES OF SHAME, HATRED AND DISFAVOUR
Chapter 2
The Causes of Shame, Hatred and Disfavour
“23 therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.” Genesis 3:23-24
Adam disobeyed God through the influence of his wife and brought shame, hatred and disfavour from God. Though God forgave him by the shedding of blood and using its skin to cover their nakedness. This is typology of the death of Christ and the shedding of His blood for the remission of sins.
“Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.” Genesis 3:21
Although God forgave but they needed to bear the consequences of their sin. They were sent out of the Garden of Pleasure to face the harsh realities of life. This began the genesis of shame, hatred and disfavour. They fell out of relationship with God. So we see from the story above that the number one cause of this triune evils is SIN.
“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” Proverbs 14:34
Sin has always been the bane of humanity right from the fall of Adam. The devil has used this weapon successfully for thousands of years. After the fall of Adam the nature of sin made Cain to kill Abel which eventually brought the triune evils upon his life.
“11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand.
12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth. 13 And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
14 Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.” Genesis 4:11-14
The sin of Cain brought heavy curses from God upon his life as many today are still heaping curses of God upon their lives due to sin also.
Rebellion and stubbornness are another causes of this triune evils.
“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.” 1 Samuel 15:23
Saul rebelled against the direct commandment of God and brought problems upon himself. He even lost God’s backing for his throne and became a rejected king.
“26 And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath rejected thee from being king over Israel. 27 And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent.
28 And Samuel said unto him, The Lord hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.”
1 Samuel 15:26-28
Like the children of Israel in the wilderness who died more in the hands of God than in the hands of the enemies due to rebellion against God. The same way many have brought serious problems upon themselves via rebellion as well.
And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.” Psalm 78:8
The shame, hatred and disfavour that come from God can always be removed when one turns to God totally. God will always forgive when you call upon Him no matter how deep one has gone into sin, rebellion or stubbornness.
“13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
14 if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:13-14
When it comes from the demonic realms this triune evils can come from the forces of witchcraft also. Witches and wizards can attack lives with these demons and even place a spell or curse on people.
“Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.” Nahum 3:4
Destinies have been caged and ruined by the forces of witchcraft. Nations, families and individuals have been destroyed by them. Many people especially believers take these forces for granted but you need to understand these are wicked forces that show no mercy in their cruel operations. God declared a death sentence on anyone caught to be a witch or wizard to show His complete hatred for such.
“Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.” Exodus 22:18
The destructive nature of witches and wizards can be seen in the story of Balaam who was hired by Balak to curse the children of Israel. It took God’s intervention to stop his satanic plans against His people.
“7 And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel.
8 How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the Lord hath not defied?” Numbers 23:7-8
The purpose of the sacrifice was to invoke evil demons against God’s children by bribing God to approve his attack. But God refused to do so and put His own words in his mouth to tell Balak that His people cannot be cursed.
In the New Testament we see influence of witchcraft agents over community and even over rulers.
“9 But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:
10 to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.
11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.” Acts 8:9-11
“6 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus:
7 which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.” Acts 13:6-8
So many believers take these agents of darkness for granted and they have paid dearly for it. Even Apostle Paul that confronted the wizard was filled with the Holy Ghost before he pronounced Judgment on the wizard unlike today’s believers who are filled with nothing but worldliness. Is it any wonder the enemies seem to have the upper hand in their lives today?
“9 Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,
10 and said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? 11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.
12 Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.” Acts 13:9-12
