Excerpt from the 29th Book in THE UNCOMMON BOOK SERIES titled OPERATION NO MERCY

Engaging the Wicked in Spiritual Battles Part 1

“10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:10-12 (Kings James Version)

“10 A final word: Be strong with the Lord’s mighty power.
11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil.
12 For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:10-12 (New Living Translation)

We come to a very crucial aspect of spiritual warfare. So many believers engage the enemies in spiritual warfare but see little or no results. There is need to understand the rules of engagement in spiritual warfare with the host of darkness and their human agents. This battle is real. Apostle Paul opened our eyes to the various categories of the hierarchies of forces in the kingdom of Satan. These are cruel and wicked forces that have no mercy in their dictionaries. You need to take heed to Paul’s admonition if you truly want to overcome the forces of darkness.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might” Ephesians 6:10

No true believer should joke with the above statement. We live in a world that is ruled by powers be it physical or spiritual. The people of the world are seeking for powers from the forces of darkness to rule the world but the children of God are seeking for pleasures and frivolities to enjoy themselves. No wonder Jesus lamented in Luke 16:8,

“And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light”

It’s quite amazing how believers want to live a full life of victory in God’s Kingdom when they don’t know how to engage the enemies in battles. The first thing you need to understand if you ever wish to defeat the forces of darkness and their human hosts is that,

YOU NEED GOD’S RAW POWER
Demons are powerful beings and no mortal can confront them without a superior power. This is the reason the people of the world seek to be in league with them in order to succeed on earth. Believers without power will only end up becoming a prey to the host of darkness. Jesus gave an outstanding revelation on the place of power in spiritual warfare which many choose to ignore today.
“28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.” Matthew 12:28-29

You cannot bind the strong man if you are not stronger than him. This is the truth Jesus is telling us here. You stand no chance against the least being in the devil’s kingdom if you lack power. Unfortunately, there are many believers who lack power and the more reason they engage in spiritual warfare and things get worse for them.

I am talking directly to born again believers in Christ who are Disciples of Christ and not just mere followers or professors of Christ Jesus. If you are among the group who are just religious or claim you are born again and still find it easy to live a careless sinful laden life, I am so sorry, you stand no chance in this deadly game.
You cannot receive power if you are not a true child of God and you refuse to be a disciple of Christ. Is it any wonder we have so many powerless believers and unfortunately Gospel Ministers who are been defeated by the host of darkness? RAW KINGDOM POWER ARE FOR BELIEVERS IN CHRIST JESUS AND THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE POWER DEPENDS ON YOUR DISCIPLESHIP RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.

Every genuine born again child of God has received power already.

“11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
John 1:11-13

At salvation you receive the kingdom power because God’s kingdom is the one of power and the most supreme power in the universe for that matter.

“For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.” 1 Corinthians 4:20

With this power in you there is need to understand you need to grow in Christ and in the knowledge of Him to use this power effectively. Your relationship with Christ determines the extent to which you can use the Kingdom power. That relationship determines your AUTHORITY.

Let me quickly explain from The Bible point what POWER and AUTHORITY are and the relationship between the two.

POWER is the ability or potential of an individual to influence others and control their actions.

AUTHORITY is the legal and formal right to give orders and commands, and take decisions. It is a formal right, given to the high officials.
Every believer has potential power but not all believers can truly exercise the power especially in spiritual warfare. The leaders in Jesus’ days challenged Him when they saw the wonders He was doing.

“27 And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,
28 and say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?
29 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
30 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.
31 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?
32 But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.
33 And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.” Mark 11:27-33
