Your spiritual life is a function of the state of your mind.A sad,discouraged,dejected mind make a weak faith.But a joyful,excited and optimistic mind make a strong faith.The Bible declares,
"THE SPIRIT IS WILLING BUT THE FLESH IS WEAK"
This is a sublime truth.The flesh that is weak is really the state of the mind.Paul told the Roman Christians to renew their minds in Romans 12:2.
When the mind is filled with carnal desires it makes you a carnal person because your spirit is out of tune with God or experiencing a low level.For this Romans 8 declares,
"FOR TO BE CARNALLY MINDED IS DEATH...BECAUSE THE CARNAL MIND IS ENMITY AGAINST GOD" Romans 8:6-7
This is the crux of the matter.So many are carnally minded and don't have that kind of spiritual experience that will stir up their faith to believe God for the incredible.
"FAITH COMETH BY HEARING AND HEARING BY THE WORD OF GOD" ROMANS 10:17
When you are not spiritual inclined,it becomes difficult to receive divine illumination that will stir up your emotion and propel you to have that kind of faith that will activate the supernatural for that needed miracles.
When your mind is inclined to spiritual things,it receives an activation energy which stirs up the molecules of your emotions and makes your spirit very sensitive and powerful.
Have you noticed when you truly fast and pray,your mind becomes charged and your spirit is excited beyond normal?
What happens is that during fasting and prayers,you shut your mind to carnal pleasures and focus on God and spiritual activities.At this state,your mind is filled with heaven's energy and your faith frequency begins to vibrate at a higher level.Read Isaiah 58 about the power and effect of fasting and prayers.
But few days after the fast we seem to lose that esoteric touch or experience.we are back to square one with carnal pursuits or lifestyles which becomes predominant and which ultimately affects our spirit again.
There is need then to find a balance between our daily activities and our spiritual activities.As busy as we can be we must try and devote some time daily to spiritual things.
Let me give you an insight into how I do mine.Try and spend some time early in the morning at least 10 minutes before you dash out of the house.Mostly I pray in my mind at home.
Get an audio Bible and play in your phone or in your car as you go to work.
Be ever conscious of God at every moment of your life.Live in that consciousness.It stirs up or brings about heavenly euphoria in your being.
Sing melodious Gospel tune in your heart from time to time in your busy activities.
If you are like me burst out into tongues occasionally even though it's for 10 seconds.Do this several times a day.
Control what you listen to,watch or say daily.In your spare time,meditate about The Word of God and His goodness in your life.
Control your thoughts and never allow it to wonder away for long.Thoughts are things and have power to open your mind and life for negative infilling.
Find at least a day or two in a week and give yourself to fasting and serious prayers.These tips will really help your mind to be vibrating with divine energy which will empower your spirit to live a victorious life.
So we see that the mind's state determines the state of our spirit which eventual affects our level of faith in God.May God give you a better understanding than this.Jesus still is,
